Nov 12th 2010: Rhone Valley Reds

I’ve mentioned many times how impressed I am with the reds coming out of the Rhone these days and this is a great opportunity for you to see what I’m raving about. The Chave is all Syrah and the Maxime Laurent is all Grenache but the rest are traditional Southern Rhone reds with various blends of Grenache, Syrah & Mourvedre. I really do think that dollar for dollar when you consider all of the great red wine growing regions of the world the Rhone is the star.

Clos St Jean, our “old vine” Chateauneuf-Du-Pape premium pour, has been missing in the market over the last few years but it’s back and here’s an opportunity for you to pick up one of the great wines of the region and from a phenomenal vintage!

08 Domaine Cristia, Cotes Du Rhone      $13

07 JL Chave, Mon Coeur     $20

Sandy
