Aug. 13th, 2010: Dry Rose from Around the Globe
One of the toughest things during the Summer months is trying to match Friday Tastings with the appropriate weather. Basically……………..it’s impossible! One might schedule a Cabernet tasting and when that Friday rolls around it could be 100 degrees in the shade. Other times you might set up for a white tasting and that Friday turns out cool and rainy. But this Friday (drum roll) it’s going to be over 90 and it’s just turned out perfect……….Dry Rose! Now, most of you have gotten over the incredible damage that white (pink) Zin did to the reputation of Rose in general. But for those of you that still think that all rose is sweet you need to get on in here Friday and taste just how lovely these wines are. Especially for sipping on the back deck on a warm Summer day or night. The lineup is about as diverse as you can get. Two classic Southern French beauties, one from S. Africa, one from Oregon, one from Italy’s Piedmont and one from Austria. It’s a tour of the worlds delicious Rose’s and you don’t even have to leave town!
A NOTE ABOUT NEXT WEEKS TASTING
Next week we’ll be breaking our usual Friday format. We’re helping celebrate “Dundee Hills Month” and have invited some of our favorite wineries to come in and pour. We’ll be tasting 11 wines from their latest releases. Each winery will have a station to pour from and you’ll be able to wander from winery to winery and taste and talk to the winemakers. It will be a blast. Bring your tuned up palate and questions. These are the wineries that will be visiting from 4-7:30 next Friday, August 20th;
