Wines to Enhance Your Thanksgiving Experience ($15)
Friday, November 18th 2016 4 pm – 7:30 pm @ Mt Tabor Fine Wines
This is our 15th year hosting the “Best Wines for Thanksgiving” and with less than a week to go, this is your opportunity to pick up the wines that will match best with the entire holiday meal, from aperitif to end of meal. We’ll be happy to advise you for your particular needs whether it be the traditional fare or, if your needs lean vegan, we have two experts on hand to help you, John and Eric. Experts indeed!
I think all of the wines are perfect, depending on your meal. But I must say, I’d heard a lot about the quality of wines from Analema in the Columbia Gorge — but up to this point, I had only tasted the excellent dry rosé. Yesterday the delightful couple (one’s a Thompson!) came by to show us their wines and we were able to try the legend you can never find, the Blanc de Noir Sparkling. I was amazed at the quality of this sparkler. Up until now, I’ve thought Soter’s Sparkling Rosé was the best non-Champagne sparkler I’d had from the new world. I’ll tell you what, the Analema will give it a run and maybe finish first. We also tasted their Chardonnay from their 2000 foot elevation vineyard on the slopes of Mt Adams and it is fantastic as well. The Pinot for the sparkler comes from this vineyard too. These guys are micro and doing it all the right way. High elevation, cool climate natural wines.
