New Wave Whites From Your Own Backyard; Pinot Gris? Not a One ($15)
Friday, June 30th, 2017 4 pm – 7:30 pm @ Mt Tabor Fine Wines
In life, it seems the goal for many is to attempt to grow and change and maybe learn some lessons along the way. In wine, same thing. As far as the Oregon wine industry goes, we’ve shed the often insipid Pinot Gris for far more interesting white varieties like Danube-inspired Gruner Veltliner, Alsatian like big-boned Dry Riesling, and Northern Rhone-like Viognier.
I hope I don’t have to sing the praises of the latest movement in Chardonnay! Arterberry Maresh, Walter Scott and… Lingua Franca, our newest attempt to thoroughly convince all wine lovers that Oregon is very, very serious about Chardonnay and will soon be known for it in the same way we’re known for Pinot Noir. Trust me, honest, little doubt, I promise!!!!
