Oct 29th 2010: Oregon Pinot Noir

Well, most of the grapes are finally in and we’ll celebrate the harvest this Friday with a tasting of some of the tastiest new Pinots in the market. There are a few names you may recognize and some you won’t. Myself, until yesterday, I’d never heard of Colene Clemens. I had my list of about 30 possible Pinots to pour and was struggling to narrow it down to the 6 best and along comes this wine. Their rep tells me the history of the winery and then pours the sample. I swirl, sniff and taste. Hum, who are you guys again? So I ask him to leave me  a bit more to re visit.        I continue to taste with other reps throughout the day and keep going back to it. Each time I taste I’m more impressed to the point where, finally, I simply have to find a place in the tasting for this wine. So here it is. I hope you like it as much as I do. Who the heck is DH Porth? Come on in and we’ll discuss. You might be surprised at who’s behind this one. And the Soter……………wow, what a beauty!
