June 25th 2010: Killer B's; Barolo, Barbaresco & Barbera

I don’t know about you but I am completely and thoroughly sick of this economic situation. Ok, I get it. Things go in cycles but this is one cycle I’m tired of riding! I know I sound like I’ve lost it but there is a reason for this rant. And that is……………..There’s always a silver lining (or red in this case).  Yep, because of this economic mess wine prices have been coming down, in many cases, WAY down! And so it is with the wines of the Piemonte, especially Barolo and Barbaresco. Consumers are not buying expensive things and more than ever they’re looking for value. And that’s my job, to find the great deals out there. Not every price drop is a deal!!! There are many insipid wines out there that should have never even been bottled. And they’re out there on deal as well. So, the tasting Friday has 3 amazing values and 6 delicious wines. So if you like Nebbiolo and Barbera you just need to turn off the World Cup and giddyup on down here!
