Fun, fun, fun! This lineup includes some traditional grape varieties and some you’ve probably never tasted or heard of. Most are familiar with Vernaccia, Verdicchio and Lugana. But White Pinot Noir? You may have had a few local ones but there are very few and you usually pay through the nose for them……………..like the Domaine Serene’s for a bizillion bucks and not nearly as tasty as the Ca’ Montebello….for $16. Remember that Frizzante Rosé that was the talk of the shop at our recent dry rosé tasting? The Pinot Nero Bianco is made by the same eclectic winery. Had many Kerners recently. If you’ve asked for my suggestion lately for a terrific white wine I probably demanded that you try Abbazia’s regular bottling. The one we’re pouring is the reserve version and simply amazing. And how about one of my favorite Italian whites, period? Yep, that’s the premium pour by Les Cretes. This wine made from the Petite Arvine grape is very hard to come by and we just got in the only 5 cases that made it to town. I can’t describe it, you just have to taste it for yourself. Perfect white wine drinking weather (90+) will accompany the tasting. A match made in heaven!
